After being in our new house for about 1 1/2 years, it was time to paint the garage floor, and install new storage cabinets. The following pictures display the prep and application of an epoxy paint to the floor, and installation of new cabinets. I can only do 1/2 of the garage at a time, because 1 kit only covers a single garage, and there has to be somewhere to put all the stuff in the garage while the other side's being painted, and the temp has to be 60 for two days in a row! The cost is approx $50 per side.
I bought the cabinets and the paint at Lowes.
The paint kit is called "Rust-Oleum Epoxy Shield," for garage floors. The instructions are good, and the application was easy ... but, the cure time is long!

The painter's tape pulled up quite a few of the decorative flakes (pushed too hard on the tape?)

As you can see, the hot tire marks, and A.C. drain stains are all over the floor.
I'm washing the vehicle, and cleaning the floor this morning, so I'll put some "after" photos on this page soon.

Most everything came up. With some gentle scrubbing, the floor would look brand new again. For now, though, I'm satisfied with the way it looks.
