Under Construction, but still working ...

This is a collection of short stories about interesting things that have

occurred during my life - some humorous,

and some deadly serious, but all of them are true.  The person who

doesn't enjoy reading for fun, and is merely out

for immediate satisfaction, may as well "click off," and go somewhere

else.  But, if you stay, it will be well worth your time.

My cousin, Norman Porter,  brought to life a Web Site to celebrate the lives of our Grandparents,

Alfred Shirley and Nellie Cantonwine

All of their descendants were asked to contribute photos and personal information about their lives.

Both Norman and I were, from the day of our creation, so it seems, "rode hard and put away wet"  for many years -

probably up to the time that we, as young men, became responsible for our own lives and learned to

accept the consequenses of our own doings and then shape our own destiny.

Following, are some LINKs in no particular order,  to my collection of unusual occurrences.  Most of them happened while

serving in the U.S. Air Force, from 1960 - 1981.

Not An Officer ... But A Gentleman  (Early '60s)

Early Morning Aircraft Walk-Around Inspection , By An Italian Air Force Pilot  (Early '60s)

"Back at George ... "  (1964 - 1966)

Fire At Osan Air Base, South, Korea       April 1969

NORAD Missile Attack Warning At King Salmon Combat Alert Center - Alaska 1979

"Two," "Three," "Four ... " (Alaska 1980)
